Originally from KwaZulu-Natal Susana Maria Geldenhys, who now resides in Kempton Park was stunned when she realised that she had won herself R100 000. Although she has been a successful Avon Representative for over nine years, she never imagined she would make so much money from the company so easily. “I’ve been earning a double salary as the earnings from my Avon business is comparable to my salary at the Department of Education but this is like a huge bonus” she said.
Winner of R50 000, Tasneed Hoosen from Durban was even more surprised to have won so much money from Avon as she has only been selling for a few months. The mother of two said she started selling Avon to make an extra income for the family but also to meet new people with who she could share her passion for beauty products.
Nolitha Dephney Magadla, Tebogo Makuwa, Ntombifuthi Ligwati, Gladys Mosala, Nobuhle Makhaye, Thembalihle, Hadebe, Sinazo Memani all of whom had also been drawn from the pool of all the Representatives who placed an order last year attended the gala dinner and walked away with R5000 each as well as Avon hampers to the value of R3000. Three of these women experience flying in an aeroplane for the first time, having been flown in from different parts of the country by the cosmetics company.
The event was part of Avon’s campaign to highlight how the company was empowering women across the country. “We give women the opportunity to positively change their lives through our earnings opportunity and Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. This is just one great example of that” said Paul Stephens, Sales Director at Avon. |
